Michael Jackson Sells Only 8000 Records
So MJ beat the rap, but while the judicial system gave him the Get Out of Jail Free card, the court of public opinion has said something quite the opposite. MJ has lost his grass-roots support among the population. He can't give his latest album away. People aren't buying and many of them didn't even know he was recording anything at all. I watch a lot of news and heard nothing about this release, for instance. Even the media is giving MJ the pass it seems. It's only really been a few short months since the trial, after all, and perhaps people are finished with Jackson-Mania finally.

So this may be the final blow for Jacko's career. The cards are on the table and he doesn't have the winning hand after all. Indeed he clearly has very few fans left willing to pay up. I guess you can sleep with kids and get away with it, but you're certainly not going to impress anyone.

The result of the trail is not an invitation to sleep with children. Frankly, I dont think he molested "this" kid. I do think he has molested countless others though. Take a good look at this kids family and you see a history of deep pocket manipulation attempts. Could both have happened, absolutely. However, all we have is our opinion to make a determination.

That being said, the prosecution screwed up, not the courts. I am not so sure it was MJs money that got him off, then the inept prosecution failing to convict him.

Our laws protect everyone. We are deemed innocent until "proven" guilty. The court of public opinion holds great power though, as you have indicated with the record sales.

If nothing else, I think MJ is off the streets. There has been enough publicity that I think if he has any plans in the future, he will either be hung, or just abstain and relegate himself to pounding his pud.

One thing you fail to mention is any parent who allows a child to stay at MJ's after all this. Frankly, I think a child endagerment issue exists with that decision.

Did MJ buy his way out? If you mean being able to afford the best representation, that is his right. Complaining about people excercising their rights doesnt seem fair to me. Those rights exists to protect the system from railroading the innocent. Unfortunately, those who are criminals can use the same system. It isnt perfect, but I think overall, its a good system.

I was not aware he even had an album out. I guess the world has had enough of the "M" word.
